Blossom Garden - Moonlight Monte Carlo

Blossom Garden of Alameda hosted its 13th Annual Moonlight Monte Carlo event on Oct. 10 at the Albert H. DeWitt Officers Club and attracted more than 150 guests. The evening’s activities included food and wine by Shay Café, casino-style games, a raffle, silent wine auction and a live auction. Tickets to an upcoming concert featuring Billy Joel and Elton John, along with dinner, a limo ride and an electric guitar autographed by a Counting Crows band member were among the items up for bid. After dinner, guests could dance to Blue Devil Productions. Proceeds benefit Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland.

Park Street 16th Annual Classic Car Show

All breeds of classic and exotic cars converged on Park Street for the 16th Annual Classic Car Show on Oct.10. Old, new, foreign and domestic cars lined the streets. Some of the vintage vehicles were just for show, but some were on the market. The show was not limited to the Bay Area, with some participants driving in from as far as Nevada and Arizona.

Friends of Girls Inc. Party

Girls Incorporated of the Island City held an annual Friends of Girls Inc. Party to thank volunteers, donors and friends for their support. This year’s party was on Oct.17 and drew more than 150 people. Food and wine wertr donated by local restaurants and wineries, and the Chipman Middle School Orchestra provided the music. Joyce Roche, the national president and CEO of Girls Inc., was a special guest who attended the garden party. girlsincislandcity.org
