Twice as Farm Fresh

The Tuesday morning farmers market on Webster Street has become so popular that the West Alameda Business Association is adding a second weekly market every Thursday afternoon during the summer. The summer market will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Thursday from June 9 through Sept. 8 at Webster and Taylor. The Tuesday morning Pacific Coast Certified Farmers Market will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the same location. Both markets offer farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, rotisserie chicken and lots of other goodies. For more information, call (800) 949-FARM.

Foodies have another reason to head to Webster Street during the summer and fall. A special “Fourth Friday Wine and Dine Night” will be added to Webster Street’s growing list of special events starting June 24. For a $20 prix fixe, diners will be able get a taste of Rosenblum Cellars’ collection of fine wines, sample two appetizers, then get an entrée with soup, salad or dessert at participating restaurants on Webster Street. The event will be repeated on alternate months through October. For more information visit www.westalamedabusiness.com or call (888) 291-9222.
