Flipping Flapjacks

Stomachs were very happy at the 58th annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, which was held at the Elks Lodge on May 18. More than 500 people, more than twice the usual number, attended the event, the proceeds of which were given to the Alameda Education Foundation to support Alameda public school programs in jeopardy. Local businesses donated the raffle prizes, and La Piñata No. 3 contributed the food. Oakland Raiders Zach Miller and John Wade made appearances, as did two Raiderettes. Photography Lewis Smith
