Chestnut Station has a kid-friendly gathering place and coffee shop with an eco-conscious bent. Owners James (an Aussie) and Megan Hume (a Kansas transplant) culled the name from the 1990s description of Earth, photographed by Voyager I, as a pale blue dot. They do their part by serving good, organic products and fair-trade coffee in a comfy setting. They’re hitting the mark: The coffee, from espresso to the drip, is outstanding; pastries and sweet treats, including the raspberry friand, are worthy; and the salads and sandwiches are nourishing. High ceilings, pine floors, a kids’ nook, tunes, local art, and Wi-Fi make for a pleasant vibe. Serves breakfast and lunch daily.
