At first glance, Longbranch appears to be a handsome drinking establishment serving what looks like unsurprising pub grub—oysters, mussels and clams, ribs, pasta primavera, sausage, pork shoulder, a burger, and lots of fried things (pickles, potatoes, cheese curds, Brussels sprouts)—to put in your belly while consuming a vast array of adult beverages. But it will surpass expectations on all counts, from the Sam’s Sazerac, Kusshi oyster shooter, and cauliflower-kale salad to roasted Mary’s organic chicken, warm mushroom and toasted levain salad, and Creekstone farms beef burger with hand-cut French fries. The menu changes with the seasons and market availability. But go—for some smoked pork ribs, duck confit, or a 16-ounce rib-eye steak—with high expectations. Serves brunch Saturday-Sunday, dinner Tuesday-Saturday.
