Best Tattoo Artist and Parlor

Alameda Tattoo

Was it once a brothel? An old-lady pin-curl salon? A barbershop? Whatever the tiny building once was, it's adorable now, and just funky enough, with leopard-print curtains and a sassy paint job, that you can set aside your fear of needles, lie back, and get inked. Billy, Reed and Brian are on hand to talk over design and process. Friendly greetings, calm demeanors, comfort, and conversation—it’s all good. For seashells or skulls, on sleeve or sacrum, pop into the tiniest tattoo parlor you've ever seen, and get the total tat taken care of.

Best Spirits Selection

American Oak

Best spirits selection? No understatement. When it comes to whiskeys, bourbon, and rye, you could quite literally taste a different beverage every night and never run out. There are some 200 spirits on the shelves at any time, and these rotate every few months with new flavors, new releases, new trends. The bacon-lover’s maple bourbon is no longer available, but a selection of white (un-aged) whiskeys is on the menu for the time being. Flights of antique bourbons, smoky whiskeys, four grains (corn, wheat, rye, and barley), mescals, or staffers’ choice—you want to taste them, and so do the staff. These are for sipping, iced or neat. The rye’s the limit.
