Celebrity Chef Danny Mena to Discuss Mezcal at Calavera

He'll also discuss his new cookbook, Made in Mexico.

Danny Mena, a noted New York City restaurateur, chef, and partner in the artisanal mezcal outfit Mezcales de Leyenda, is the author of a new cookbook.

On Sept. 26, Mena — an International Culinary Center alumnus — will celebrate Made in Mexico: The Cookbook and meet guests during a release party at Calavera.

The Uptown restaurant's bar manager, Luca Jacobsen, will prepare special cocktails for the occasion as Mena guides attendees through a tasting of select neat pours from the Mezcales de Leyenda collection.

Mena has owned several New York City restaurants, including Sembrado and Hecho en Dumbo.

Calavera's chef Dario Pantoja will offer several dishes that are featured in Made In Mexico — all of which were inspired by top restaurants, fondas, loncherías, and taco stands in Mena's hometown, Mexico City.
