Gaslamp London springs to life at the Cow Palace.

Oi blimey, guvna, ’tis a right proper Victorian Christmas at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair. Quick as a whistle, sharp as a thistle!

Get your fill of lovable bootblacks and chimneysweeps speaking in proper 1800s cockney rhyming slang until you’re filled with more holiday spirit than reformed miser Ebenezer Scrooge after falling into his own grave. The annual fair recreates a fantasy gaslamp London of a cozy, bygone era when street vendors hawked steaming roasted chestnuts on every street corner, joyful Christmas carolers spread holiday cheer, and cherubic-faced street urchins picked your pocket for a haypenny.

Over three acres of vintage exhibition halls at San Francisco’s Cow Palace are transformed into a festive maze of cobbled lanes, pubs, theaters, music halls, tearooms, and shops, populated by hundreds of costumed actors playing your favorite Victorian archetypes.  Cor, Bob’s your uncle!

Weekends through Dec. 18, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Adults $30, kids $14; save $7 per adult ticket and $4 per child ticket for the first thee weekends.
