Berkeley tapas bar -- and Wine Spectator's 2017 Award of Excellence winner -- La Marcha is planning a panoply of events honoring International Sherry Week, Nov. 6 through Nov. 12.

That's hella legit as Spain is the birthplace of sherry, whose name is derived from the Andalusian city Jerez de la Frontera, near which those yummy grapes are grown.

You can learn in detail about La Marcha's events here, but just to tempt you:

A sherry pairing dinner featuring bone-marrow and clam croquetas, duck butiffara sausages, and braised pork cheeks -- along with La Kika Manzanilla Pasada, Cruz Vieja Amontillado En Rama, and Lustau Eugenia Emperatriz Oloroso -- will be served nightly throughout International Sherry Week.

So will seven different educational sherry flights, available at half their usual price. These flights expore the whole range of sherries from dry to sweet.

Held across the street from La Marcha at 2043 San Pablo Ave. on Friday, Nov. 10, "A Night in Jerez" will be a a grand celebration featuring five stations with certified sherry specialists, tapas and paella, and sherry-inspired live flamenco performances. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased here.
