Austin, TX-based Made In — a two-year-old startup that sells cookware designed, sourced, and made in the USA — has just released its first-ever cookbook, which includes a recipe from Oakland's beloved pop-up pitmaster turned restaurateur, Matt Horn.

With his new brick-and-mortar restaurant in the West Oakland space formerly occupied by Brown Sugar Kitchen now sparking buzz from the farthest reaches of Instagram to Food & Wine magazineHorn grew up in the Central Valley watching his Oklahoma-born grandmother expertly butcher and cook hogs.

After his East Bay pop-ups began attracting upwards of 500 attendees, he and his wife Nina decided that it was time to consider making Horn BBQ into a real restaurant.

Debuting this week and available now through Jan. 1, the limited-edition Family Meal Volume 1: Recipes by Made In's Chef Partners & Friends features contributions by Michelin-starred personae such as Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin, Gabe Thompson of L'Artusi, Marissa Perello of Frances, and others — including Horn.

One hundred percent of proceeds from sales of the book will benefit Future Chefs, an organization that prepares teens for life and work after high school through cooking.
