Let Kids Be Kids

Let Kids Be Kids

Bay Area KidFest.

Join the fun at Bay Area KidFest.

You know, these kids today, just sitting around and playing their video games and watching their TVs and certainly not outside doing wholesome outdoorsy exercisey things that kids should be doing, like, say, hunting woolly mammoths like we did when we were kids.

Get the kids outside and active with a whole day of activities geared especially for the little ones. Bay Area KidFest celebrates the importance of families in the community with a full three-day Memorial Day weekend of kid-oriented live entertainment, fun activities, and sports. Not to mention more than 20 rides, a petting zoo full of friendly critters, kids-sized train, and even a zip line.

Kidfest encourages kids to develop a passion for thinking and exploration, have fun, and maybe, just maybe, learn a little something, too; creative parents can visit the arts and crafts booths to get some good ideas for activities to try at home. Bring a canned food donation for a discount on your entry fee; since 2010, KidFest and related events have generated 30,000 pounds of canned food donations to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.

May 27-29, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., $6 with canned food donation, $7 without donation, extra charge for rides. Mount Diablo High School, 2450 Grant St., Concord. KidFestConcord.com.
