Oakland-based Numi Organic Tea is expanding its already-huge inventory to include tea-latte concentrates and "wellness shots."

“We’re excited to elevate Numi’s presence in trending categories beyond the tea aisle,” said CEO Ahmed Rahim, who co-founded Numi in 1999 with his sister Reem Rahim.

“Our line of green teas, Turmeric Golden Latte™ blends, and herbal teasans featuring functional ingredients have been very successful while garnering numerous awards," he said.

"We’re excited to build on this success by bringing our innovative, flavor-first approach to drive growth in these emerging categories."

Having premiered at this month's Fancy Food Show in San Francisco and available in stores next month, the relatively low-sugar lattes will be available in two flavors, Matcha Green Tea Latte (spiked with cinnamon and ginger) and Turmeric Chai Golden Latte™ (spiked with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and black pepper).

Made with such ingredients as elderberry, pomegranate, matcha, fennel, and apple-cider vinegar, the plant-powered shots come in five different varieties: Inflam Away, Immunity Defense, Belly Bliss, Mind Tonic, and Get Going.
