Napa-based Re:THINK Ice Cream is celebrating its one-year anniversary on July 21 by offering free scoops at Nob Hill Foods in Alameda, along with other local retailers.
July 21 also happens to be National Ice Cream Day.
Re:THINK, which is low-glycemic and contains about half the calories and fat and one-third of the sugar and carbs contained in regular ice cream — and includes plenty of prebiotic fiber, anti-inflammatories, and antioxidants — has secured distribution at over 200 supermarkets throughout California and Utah in its first year. This month, it will start offering e-commerce options nationwide.
A portion of the company's profits supports children's education, addiction treatment, animal rights organizations, and other notable causes.
At Nob Hill Foods in Alameda as well as Raley's in Petaluma, Ranch Market Too in Yountville, and other retailers, sample scoops of established Re:THINK flavors such as Chocolate Majesty, Cardamom Pistachio, Turmeric Ginger, Coconut Matcha, Almond Asteroid, and Meyer Lemon Poppyseed will be on offer — along with sneak peeks of the company's newest flavor, Black Cherry Vanilla.
As part of the celebration, fans can try to win a free case of ice cream via Facebook and Instagram.
