It’s located in downtown’s historic Broadway Building.
Newly opened in downtown Oakland’s historic, beautiful Broadway Building, The Broadway Coffee will hold its first complimentary cupping event on Friday, Feb. 28.
Open to the public and set to last about thirty to 45 minutes, the event will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature five different coffee types made with beans from different regions in order to demonstrate their differing taste profiles.
Guests are free to ask questions which experts on hand will answer.
Part architectural experience and part pick-me-up, The Broadway Coffee is an atmospheric café whose Great Gatsby vibe — echoing the building’s Art Deco ceilings and marble floors and walls — manifests through soft music sighing through speakers as baristas conduct table service while wearing bow ties and black dress shirts.
The café serves not just quality coffee and fancy barista drinks such as Oreo Cortado and Espresso con Panna (topped with homemade whipped cream) but also matcha, tea, House Kombucha, Dandelion Hot Chocolate, and other beverages.
Edibles include scones, croissants, and sticky buns from The Midwife and the Baker as well as avocado toast, breakfast and lunch bowls, and more.
An avid traveler who spent a year backpacking across Asia while exploring its philosophies, The Broadway Coffee founder Daria Hosseinyoun holds an MBA from Columbia Business School; his ventures also include real-estate design.
