The Face of Wedding and Event Planning

A Monique Affair

When Chanda Daniels was little, she would pull apart Granny’s JC Penney catalog, turning the paper dolls into the bride and groom. For years, though, she didn’t listen to her inner voice, working instead in grocery retail. Finally, in 1999, she turned her passion for throwing parties and “organizing everything” into her beloved career, and “A Monique Affair” was born. “I said, ‘Heck yeah, this is my thing.’” Daniels said as a wedding planner,  “I really get to know the couple. I won’t take on clients if  we don’t connect. If I can’t go out and have dinner with them and actually have a conversation with both people.”
