Christopher Rodriguez Update

Christopher Rodriguez, the Oakland youth who was paralyzed from the waist down after being struck by a stray bullet while taking piano lessons at Harmony Road Music, was represented with a card recently made and signed by his peers and classmates. In addition, the Oakland Youth Chorus handed Chris' mother over 400 letters from students that did not know Christopher, but felt the need to send him well wishes.

March 19 was the first time Chris attended an event or left the house other than for a medical appointment since he returned home from the hospital and he attended the first of many benefits produced by Oakland Youth Chorus to raise funds for his trust fund.  Oakland Youth Chorus for Music Education encourages the continued support of Chris and his family as they make the transitions necessary for an entirely new lifestyle.

The Oakland Youth Chorus for Music Education raised over $3,500 for the Christopher Rodriguez Trust at the benefit concert March 19. Donations continue to be sent to OYC in Chris' name and mailed to 2501 Harrison Street, Oakland, CA 94612 c/o OYC/Chris Rodriguez Trust.  Donations are tax deductible when made out to Oakland Youth Chorus.

The family and friends of Chris are continuing to enlist support at

Earl J. Rivard

You can't keep the good ones down. Alameda native Earl J. Rivard was hit by a car when he was four months old and then, later in life, was hit two more times. The blind and partially-paralyzed Rivard doesn't let any of this get him down, releasing Troubadour Blue.
Track: "Saving Face."
