This restaurant has been around for 15 years for good reason. Excellent, friendly service and great tastes from a complete menu combine to make Café Colucci a great choice in an area with a surprising number of Ethiopian restaurants. And this is a good thing for those who love mopping up the earthy and unique tastes with a basket full of injera, spongy and porous Ethiopian bread. If the weather is right, grab a table outside and start with the vegetarian sambussa, sautéed whole lentils with fresh garlic, jalapeño, bell pepper and cilantro. An Ethiopian meal is traditionally a shared meal, so consider a veggie combo mixed with a meat combo (if so inclined) to enjoy a very large plate featuring a sampling of almost every possible combination of spice and ingredient on the menu—by the time you finish, you will be an expert on all that Ethiopian food has to offer. Wash it all down with a Harar brand Ethiopian beer or a glass of honey wine and call it a night. Serves lunch and dinner daily.
