This small Japanese restaurant—about eight tables plus a sushi bar—is always popular and offers great sushi south of the BART tracks. Make your reservation or attempt a drop-in to enjoy some really great sushi and sashimi options done in a very traditional style. You won’t find any Raiders’ rolls here, but the standard spicy tuna, yellowtail and salmon rolls are perfect if not flashy. Opt for one of the daily specials handwritten on Uzen stationary or one of the Japanese dinner choices, including katsu and teriyaki, for something a little different: It all goes great with one of the many chilled or warm sake selections on the menu.
