Things to Do

I'm on vacation next week, so here are some great events for the weekend and beyond. See you when I return June 9.

• Grab the clubs and hit the links for the Principal's Cup benefiting Elmhurst Community Prep Middle School's music program. 2 p.m. May 30, $175 per golfer, 10051 Doolittle Drive, (510) 879-2021, elmhurstfundraiser@gmail.com.

• Join the American Indian Child Resource Center for a memorial prayer walk to honor Native people who have passed away due to violence, alcohol or drugs. 9 a.m., May 31, starting at the corner of 47th Avenue and International Boulevard the 3-mile walk will end at the Intertribal Friendship House, 523 International Blvd., with a meal, (510) 208-1870, ext. 320.

• The City of Oakland's office of parks and recreation celebrates the reopening of the Studio One Art Center for local youth. 2 p.m.–6 p.m. May 31, 365 45th St., (510) 597-5027.

• Hear the Beth Custer Ensemble at the Berkeley Jewish Community Center. 8 p.m., May 31, 1414 Walnut St., Berkeley, (510) 848-0237.

• Celebrate Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon's 125th anniversary with 5-cent beers and period costumes. Noon, June 1, 48 Webster St., Jack London Sqaure, (510) 839-6761.

• Join Oakland Magazine and the Bank of Alameda for a celebration of the June Best of issue. Enjoy food, drinks, live music and grab a copy of the new issue. 4 p.m.–6 p.m. June 4, free, 155 Grand Ave., Suite 100, (510) 553-0700.
