Alameda Point Waterfront Enjoys New On-Site $23 Million Ferry Terminal

San Francisco Bay Ferry’s New Seaplane Lagoon Offers Quick and Scenic 20 Minute Commute to San Francisco

Discovering the combination of waterfront living, an easy commute to downtown San Francisco, and both available at an approachable price has always been a challenge. However, it just became a reality for the burgeoning Alameda Point Waterfront District with the July 1 opening of the new $23 million Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal and service, announced Michael Sorochinsky, CEO of Cypress Equity Investments, a partner in the redevelopment of the Alameda Point Waterfront District and developer of AERO Apartments. “The new ferry service is truly a game changer for the area. Not only does it provide an enviable commute for residents of our new high-design waterfront communities, it also opens Alameda Point Waterfront District to residents, businesses, and visitors from around the Bay Area.”
“Just imagine a Bay Area commute that gets you out of your car and eschews the bottlenecks of our bridges and the congestion and multiple stops that plague BART and Cal Train,” Sorochinsky went on to add. “The new service allows residents to get outside and enjoy their waterfront lifestyle in the comfort of knowing that the vibrancy of San Francisco is just 20 minutes away. It’s just an unbeatable combination,” he added.
According to the onsite leasing manager, Sunny Azizi, AERO Apartments is seeing a growing number of tours by singles and couples that want to embrace an urban lifestyle but appreciate what this location offers in terms of outdoor space, floor plans and pricing. “Residents here enjoy a highly amenitized urban community, but one with large open spaces and expansive waterfront views. It’s difficult to find that at an approachable price in the city. Even in this post-COVID environment.”
The new ferry service runs from Seaplane Lagoon Monday through Friday, from Alameda beginning at 6:30AM until 7:30PM, and from San Francisco to Seaplane Lagoon starting at 6:55AM until 10:22PM. Both bicycle and pedestrian access are available. According to WETA (San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority), the Ferry service available now exceeds pre-COVID levels.
Designed to blend in with the historic warehouses and hangars of the Alameda Point Waterfront District, AERO Apartments provides a high-design, highly amenitized waterfront lifestyle across studio, 1-bed, and 2-bedroom floor plans. The new community is located at 2000 Ardent Way, around the corner from ‘Spirits Alley,’ is now open for early move-ins. With final construction and landscaping scheduled to be 100% complete by September, AERO is already nearly 30% leased. Continuing Cypress Equity Investments’ commitment to sustainability, AERO Apartments has been designed and is being built to the highest of sustainability standards and is registered for LEED Gold certification.
