The East Bay German International School (EBGIS) is a bilingual immersion school offering preschool through eighth grade programs. Our Early Childhood Program offers a unique play-based and project-oriented approach that immerses children in both German and English from their first day with us. We embrace children’s natural curiosity and creativity, providing opportunities for hands-on exploration, discovery, and social-emotional growth. By balancing free play with guided activities, we foster a lifelong love of learning and support the holistic development of each child.
EBGIS Early Childhood students – more than half of whom do not speak German at home –transition successfully to German-language classroom instruction in the EBGIS Elementary and Middle Schools, then to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme at the on-site East Bay International High School.
