August is Life Insurance Awareness Month. As an agent, I have one short month to try to get your attention while you are finishing up vacation and getting the kids back to school. This is THE BEST time to apply for life insurance. Why’s that? For most folks, Open Enrollment for employer benefits such as health and life insurance is right around the corner. The packets come out in September and October, and you have a VERY SHORT window of time to make your selection.
Applying for life insurance takes time. There’s a medical exam and for some people the underwriting will take several weeks. Waiting until open enrollment may not allow enough time to complete the process.
