The annual Eat Real Festival celebrates tasty, local food culture.

The annual Eat Real Festival celebrates all that’s good about food and features dishes with ingredients that are locally grown, organically produced, sustainably harvested, and lovingly prepared. And, of course, most importantly, foods that taste good.

Now entering its 11th year, the festival brings together food trucks and carts offering all sorts of different cuisines, from Indian curry and Korean barbecue to Persian falafels and American hot dogs as well as a seemingly infinite variety of everything delicious that’s pickled, jammed, brined, smoked, cured, or jarred.

The festival features over 50 sustainably sourced menus, 40 craft beers, wines and cocktails, and more. Eat Real’s goal is to revitalize regional food systems, boost public awareness of artisanal food, and encourage innovation among American food entrepreneurs — and to put good food into the mouths of the people. Proceeds help to support Baykeeper, a nonprofit organization working to keep the Bay clean.

Sat.-Sun., Sept. 21-22, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., free to attend with food and beverages available for purchase, Jack London Square, 472 Water St., Oakland, EatRealFest.com.
