Word on the Street: Setting Goals

What’s your New Year’s Resolution?

Aleta Tan: My New Year’s resolution is to take more vacation time with my brother. I only planned ahead for one trip this year, in 2016, which wasn’t enough. In 2017, my goal is to actually travel to at least three places and spend one week at each destination.

Peter Adranly: I just want to be better than I was last year. I know it’s a generic answer and open for interpretation, but by saying it this way, I can apply it to all areas of my life and become the best possible form of myself.

Tony Tran: I’ve already lost weight, so now I want to travel more and enjoy life wherever and whenever I can. I worked too hard in 2016 and realize that life really is short and that money isn’t everything. Simply put, I want to have more fun.

Kessie Manlang: First of all, I’m determined to get back into shape after having a baby. That is a must. I also want to make an effort to spend more time with my friends who don’t have children. And lastly, I want to find a new career path and follow through with whatever it is.

Drew Jones: In 2107 I want to run a 5K without stopping. I’m going to train three times a week and build up the stamina and strength to accomplish this goal. At this point, I’m not interested in my time; I’m focused only on starting and finishing. I do, though, look forward to a participation medal.

Josh Sanders: I plan to spend more time with my kids. It’s not that I don’t now, but I want to make even more of an effort this year.

Sandy Yee: After watching loved ones suffer from serious health issues in 2016, my focus for the New Year is going to be on wellness and good health. Monetary things mean less to me now, as I see that health is wealth.

Kent Oyatedor: For 2017, a resolution I have is to gain some new skills. Whether it means being a better cook in the kitchen or being more handy around the house, I want to expand on my abilities and learn as many new things as I can, because I love learning and helping others. I’m definitely excited to see what 2017 has in store for me and what new knowledge I’ll acquire.

Lindsay Hawkins: My resolution is to get more organized around the house and in life in general.
