It has a full bar.
Zachary’s Chicago Pizza has opened a new Oakland location.
Serving guests at 3917 Grand Ave. and launched this fall, it joins other Zachary’s locations in Rockridge, Berkeley, San Ramon, and Pleasant Hill.
Since its founding 36 years ago, the company has earned generations of devoted fans for its generously topped deep-dish pies and other family fare.
When founding owners Barbara Gabel and Zach Zachowski retired in 2003, they sold the company to their employees.
“Our guests will feel right at home at our newest location on Grand with our award-winning menu and a new curation of beloved customer art from our bi-annual Zachary’s Art Contests adorning the walls,” said Zachary’s COO Leandra Schuler.
“As a 100 percent employee-owned company with roots in Oakland, we are truly proud to be part of and to serve the beautiful, vibrant communities of the Bay Area,” Schuler said.
Open seven days a week and eagerly engaging in fundraising for local nonprofits, the Grand Avenue restaurant serves the full Zachary’s menu but is also the first of the company’s locations to offer a full bar and a custom-crafted cocktail menu.
